It's a good thing I got my name change finalized a few years before I got so heavily into QA/CI stuff, or I'd be tempted to make my name a test for every computer that encountered it

@foone my last name has an umlaut (ü), a hyphen, and is 14 chars long. My whole life I’ve been enjoying:- forms that reject hyphens as an invalid char- forms that reject my name due to length, most egregious on paper immigration forms- sites that happily accept my name but don’t support UTF-8, so ü becomes üThankfully airlines are generally fine if I omit the umlaut and hyphen 🥲

I know a bunch of trans people and you'd be amazed how many of them did this on accident.

Including me, in fact. There's a surprising number of systems that appear to think I don't have a middlename, I just have a first name that's FooneMiddle.

This happens every time I get a plane ticket (the TSA doesn't seem to care) and it's the case for the back of my license, but not the front.Which is an inconsistency I think about constantly.

Apparently the TSA one is common? But the driver's license one is still weird. I've confirmed on others that it's not like that on theirs, name changed or not
