Alright!! Let’s start this new self-hosting journey! So many options, so many questions…Should I install this or that, is it better to apache rather than nginx…yadda yadda… wait, is there any spare free sockets close to my router to plug in my RB pi? Nope! The journey is postponed until I’ll get back from the shops with a multi socket plug extension…#selfhosting

Now after realising I needed my laptop to use the sd card reader to install the os for the raspberry-pi I thought: “my arch linux installation on this laptop hasn’t be updated in a couple of months…lets update it first!”.OS bricked. Had to chroot from usb, uninstall fucking optimus-manager, reboot. This is taking longer than what I thought… #selfhosting

Yesterday I managed to set up my raspberry pi and then to install FreshRSS with Docker as a test. And it was easy peasy. Even too easy... I mean, docker feels like a package manager on Linux. That's a good thing I guess? The test worked but now I'm questioning about exposing FreshRSS to the web to use it everywhere because I really don't like its UI/UX, it's hideous. I won't use its GUI on my iPhone, that's for sure, but I can't see a good front end on Linux right now.#selfhosting #rss

I mean, there's a real lack of modern desktop #RSS aggregators apps, at least on #linux. The few I can see on the Arch wiki are either from 20 years ago or just too basic (Gnome apps) or just too hideous to look at or use. And don't even tell me about installing (yet another) electron app, please...

@s31bz @mauro probably? It uses KDE libraries and is a part of the Kontact suit, alongside with KMail and other things.
