       I really want to start my own website to host my art and narrative work cohesively, something a little more complex and personalized than a standard art portfolio site, so I can't really use any portfolio templates. But my coding and programming skills are pretty limited for now. I tried to build my own website but it was taking too long. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and learn the skill more adequately.

       I was actually getting pretty decent at coding and programming but it's a skill I keep dropping and then when I come back it's always months later and I'm disoriented and don't remember where I left off and have to keep going over the basics again.

       @afairmaiden What language? I've got a few under my belt if you'd like some assistance.I've been building up my personal site over years now with small functional chunks --- and will still panic if something breaks. (Had a bit of a php config issue just earlier today~)

       @afairmaiden might help to focus on a minimal stack, like just html and CSS. Web dev has gotten far too unnecessarily complex.

       @afairmaiden One option to consider: using something like Wordpress or Drupal to self-host.  With all the plugins, you should be able to find something to host your written work and art without too much hand-coding.
