@futurebird Moose in the wild have this sort of "honey badger don't give a sh!t" attitude. If your tent is pitched where they walk and you're sleeping in your tent then after the moose passes by you're pretty much raw person burger and the moose didn't even notice.

@futurebird The spider is terrified of you.The moose doesn't care about you.The lion has other things on it's mind. But the goose? The goose seeks you out for vengeance.

@futurebird I once took a stroll with a fellow community school teacher along one boundary of the Serengeti Plains. When we returned from visiting a bar 5 kilometers away in the next village, we saw the paw prints of a lion on top of our shoe prints! Big paws! I felt like a quite endangered simian: the nearest tree was 400 yards away!

@futurebird if measured by "if pissed off", lion. if measured by "likelihood to die due to", spider. if measured by "ease to piss off", goose.

@futurebird I went with lion but did hesitate between it and moose. given the incidence rate of mostly irrational "what if I'm hiking alone and get eaten by a mountain lion?" brainworms I have, voting lion seemed most genuine. I have a lot of cognitive respect-fear for moose, just a more instinctive and emotional fear of apex predators. Spiders are fragile little babies. Geese are large and assertive enough to assert their boundaries (and people don't like that) so I respect their space.

@futurebird the goose has neither fear nor pity and cannot be slain in battle.A room with a moose is disturbing, but as the #OrbitalMooseSanctuary is sadly not a thing yet, most meese dwell not in rooms. As such, the average moose is just a normal level of unnerving and is no match for the supernatural terror that is a goose's eternal wrath.

@abetterjulie @futurebird I once visited a zoo at night with a keeper who made me experiment what it feels like to be seen as a food. He dragged me in front of lions as if he was bringing food. Unsettling.

@futurebird Other: Wolf. Once went to a "wilderness park" where the half-wild wolves were about to get fed. They started howling. No matter how many time you"ve heard it in movies, the real thing made me (and my academic colleagues) feel like running to the nearest cave and put a big fire at the entrance. Insta-stone-age-brain-trigger.

@futurebirdPoll over which reminds me of my reasoning: I've been in.close contact with spiders, geese, and moose without feeling like I was in direct danger. By elimination, lion is scariest as an unknown if I would ever encounter one.Of course, given that I live in northern Sweden, moose is by far the most likely cause of bodily harm. This has happened in town, and when I noticed that there was a mother&child duo, the 20-30 or so meters I had stopped feeling sufficient.
