@ewen The man that developed the Smugmug photo sharing/storing website/app had someone reverse engineer his code and patent it, subsequently attempting to charge him a licensing fee to use the software he had personally developed. It took him several years and (probably) millions of dollars to fight him and eventually win. And nothing the guy did was illegal.

@ewen I already heard of people getting copyright claims from AI bots that had scraped their creations and then reproduced them. Brave new world.

@ewen this is one thing Trump's elections have done, which seems small on the face of it, though it is a rather big deal. Simple breakdown of societal niceties and allowing people to be their base, essentially inhuman selves with no regret or apology. The fact that growing/learning children will look at that worthless sack and absorb the lesson of "if I emulate his life and actions, I can be president of the United States" is devastating.

@ewen I had that happen to me only years ago on Amazon. I got a foosball table that had horrid assembly instructions. I wrote new ones and posted them. Apparently, the company took those, put them into their product, and then complained to Amazon that I published their copyrighted material. My instructions were removed. I spent over an hour putting those detailed instructions together and they not only stole them, but said I violated their copyright. I can't imagine how you feel. GRRR.
