       There’s people who get up early and wait in the parking lot at target for them to open so they can buy out all of their Pokemon cards. Last time I went there that early to get diapers for my daughter and I saw a gross mouse’s looking woman and a fat guy with long hair pushing buggies full to the self checkout.

       Chances are they’re doing this to either sell them or they suffer from some kind of gambling addiction because they do this to every place that sells them and it’s obnoxious.

       Pokemon scalpers are stupid on top of that because they’re paying retail and have to mark them up at least 150% of MSRP in order to make any kind of profit unless they just get off on the aspect of controlling distribution. Meanwhile my wife buys them at distributor price from a distributor because she also sells them as a side hustle of hers and has a business she uses to fund her hobby.

       @Forestofenchantment I accept that trade off for the fact that everyone is laser focused on the SIRs and stuff with low pull rates making decent playable cards cheap.

       @Forestofenchantment all of the old stuff from our childhood is also playable in a closed format and also outside of nostalgia bait like the ‘zard, is still viable. I got a guy at my LGS hosting 99-00 format tournaments and I sweep with haymaker and rain dance.
