I have young people complaining that I should install dark reader because looking at white backgrounds in articles hurts their eyes.I have old people complaining that I shouldn't use dark mode because they're losing vision and white text on a black background causes an unpleasant ghosting effect.I think I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing

@10leej There are people that do legitimately have light sensitivity, there are also a lot of people who have self diagnosed themselves with light sensitivity

@BrodieOnLinux so the people that want dark mode just wear dark glasses or better yet just dim the screen it’s not hard lol. and the people who demand light mode have your cataracts removed already!

@BrodieOnLinux @10leej FWIW, I got a new work laptop with a Full HD (1080p) display. I forget the technical term, but the screen is not glossy. Anyway, I use dark mode on everything and I found that when I'm outside or in a bright environment, it's actually harder for me to read the text and everything on my screen without turning the brightness to 100%. In those instances, light mode actually seems more beneficial for my work.

@BrodieOnLinux @10leej Aye, indeed, it is. No issue on my desktop monitor in my room, and yes, glossy screens have their downside when it's sunny out, but for some reason, my eyes don't seem to like it when I'm out and about on my work lappy.

@BrodieOnLinux I usually turn off the video and just listen. 🎧 Don't have to read when you read it for me. Because of my work, I stare at the screen the whole day anyway.

@BrodieOnLinux People who complain about the light mode hurting their eyes should turn on a desk light while watching something on a screen. Don't watch anything on a screen with no background illumination, you are not at the cinema.

@BrodieOnLinuxDark Reader browser extension should work inside videos too. And not the whole video, just text/articles in it.

@BrodieOnLinux It's weird, I use a lot of dark mode. But the Mac Themes bot has reminded me that I use to use brilliant white themes, and turned the brightness down. I don't remember that being a problem.

@BrodieOnLinux clearly the solution is to do everything twice, once for the light mode people and once for the dark mode people

@BrodieOnLinux You should create two sets of videos, one with dark mode and one with light mode. Oh and could you also do one in sepia for me please? (Yes you forgot the middle aged people!!!!)
