@historyofpunkrock Ooooh tough choice. With my back against the wall I'd have to go with the DKs.

@historyofpunkrock Songs the Lord Taught Us was the first one I heard and the one that pointed me towards all the rest. But Sandinista! is the one I listen to the most these days. There's just so much there.

@historyofpunkrock Love the black and white album art vibe of that year. Probably go for the Dead Kennedys or something not on the list like the Bauhaus debut.

@historyofpunkrock for me it would be Nobody's Heroes by SLF. And The Black Album by The Damned

@flockofnazguls @historyofpunkrock I'd have to agreebout DK, tho there's like 4 on there that I'm unfamiliar with. Which makes me feel like I'm not good at punk.Oh what about Dead Milkmen? Do they belong in those genres? Do I just like bands that start with "Dead"?Do you ever make mixtapes @historyofpunkrock ?

@historyofpunkrock Much as I love the DKs and the Clash, that X album is the clear masterpiece in that selection

@historyofpunkrock I saw an early DK show at the Starwood - didn't get them, but I played wind instruments for a decade. X is my favorite LA band, but I don't consider them punk.

@historyofpunkrock Circle Jerks... but - hear me out here - Iron Maiden's self-titled album has some pretty punk rock songs on it.

@historyofpunkrock The Ramones album has a special place for me because I bought it new, and worked backwards in their catalog from there. I still think it's better than people give it credit for, but I'm biased.Loved X at the time, but years later thought it really didn't age well. Now that at least one of them has been a vocal Nazis supporter I'm glad I lost my attachment to it.

@historyofpunkrock these are some greats. I love the middle 3 bands - not my favorite Clash but the Ramones and DK are solid. Circle Jerks I dig too but mostly Golden Shower of Hits.

@historyofpunkrock Killing Joke. Jaz Coleman is the best. Still have the tape a friend gave me 42 years ago.
