Minds #writingcommunity, what help do you need to achieve your writing objectives, if any? What help isn't vital but would certainly make your writing process a bit easier?(Image algorithmically generated in NightCafe.)

I need to write fast and minimize editing.I can do it when I have everything in my head before I sit down to write. But that only works when I have idle time to daydream etc, and only for very short pieces. For a serious short story I need to prepare research notes, character sketches, examples of their manner of speech, etc. I don't think software is very useful - it's better to do this on paper so I can draw crude maps, tie things together with lines, hiliter, etc - and plan to throw the whole mess away when I'm done (or if I don't finish it before a real or self-imposed deadline).Practice is the only way to get there. I'm not even doing it with the goal of publishing stories. Writing them is just a stepping stone on my quest to create one or two good computer RPGs. But before I accomplish that, there's a good chance I'll churn out some credible fiction. I should really make it a priority next year... *(It's all about "low-effort" - when you get good at something, it's easy. I'm there with programming and music, not quite with writing or 3D art or game *development* i.e. the part beyond mere programming.)* However I *really* don't want to get sidetracked into writing novels, like the developer of "Frayed Knights" whose name I can't even remember now... that worked out JUST GREAT for him lol
