@dansup@mastodon.social @pixelfed@mastodon.social no, I don't think this is the best idea... Even Jack Dorsey himself said the direction bluesky is going in is shit.

@dansup @pixelfed No, Pixelfed should stay with Frdiverse. AtProto is the delusion of decentralized network; it’s just outsourced data center.

@dansup@mastodon.social @pixelfed@mastodon.social As far as I know, bluesky's governance is centralised, so no, it doesn't sound like a protocol worth integrating... I think that's a fundamentally flawed way of creating a "decentralised" network... Like sure, I can host my data, but bluesky gets to decide what my data is, so what the fuck is the point? Giving bluesky free storage space? :kekw:

Don’t let the loud trolls stop you. This is a good idea.

The hardest part of this is integrating a mini bridge and how that affects interactions across servers. Still haven't solved that from a technical standpoint, leaned into having one bridge.

I mean if they block me then ideally others shouldn’t see my replies. Otherwise it’s mute not block.

It's amazing how many trolls are against innovation. I realized that an important event was when we stopped having downvotes accross the internet. That means that there's no real way to discourage bad behaviour which is at the heart of all good reputation systems. Also it is asymmetric. The elites have means to discourage bad behaviour in the population. But the population has little means to discourage bad behaviour in the elites. A good reputation system would help fix this. Of course that, too, has to get over the innovation barrier.
