The eternal annoyance of setting up a new computer without easy access to the old one:how often you go "what's the fucking hex editor that I use? I can't remember, and I just think of it as 'the hex editor'"

@foone Yeah, I always have to do those sorts of things when they’re fresh in my mind, and I just have a notepad and pen all the time because any extra delays getting back to the source of information almost guarantee I’ll never get it done.

@4c31 It's one of my pet peeves: the GPL isn't that kind of license. It's not a EULA, you don't have to agree or accept it. It only affects you if you choose to redistribute it, in which case you just have to follow it, it doesn't matter if you "accept" or "agree" with it. Your legal rights are the same.

@foone This looks cool, but it seems a little overdone. Hex editing is a mundane task, not an ✨experience✨. And it has a font specifically designed for hex editing which nonetheless adds crap in the middle of the 0 -- which makes it look like an 8 except on squintingly close inspection. Why does everybody do that

@foone @gsuberland If you're on Windows, right-click the executable, Properties → Compatibility → High DPI settings → check the bottom checkbox and choose System from the drop-down (I'm not on English Windows, so I don't know what the exact phrasing there is).Though ImHex works fine for me in high DPI – look in Settings → Interface → Scaling.

@foone Imagine hating freedom that much. Some software packaging systems have a place which requires you to click through or otherwise indicate assent to the terms of the GPLv{2,3}. This is neither required nor forbidden. With or without a click through, the GPLv{2,3}'s rules remain the same. Merely agreeing to the GPLv{2,3} doesn't place any obligations on you. You are not required to agree to anything to merely use software which is licensed under the GPLv{2,3}. You only have obligations if you modify or distribute the software. If it really bothers you to click through the GPLv{2,3}, nothing stops you from hacking the GPLv{2,3}ed software to bypass this.https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#ClickThrough
