At the Central Military Commission, Xi decides to cease all shipments of troops to Burma; the North Malaysia Army Group is still to try breaking into Bago. The Arakan pocket will begin to be evacuated by air rather than ship.

@ww3real that's a lot of heavy equipment the Chinese will leave behind.

@sfsworms @ww3real The heavy equipment is replaceable; the problem is, it's still around 4 million troops to evacuate.

@Alon @ww3real Will we see an Indian army group fighting with Beutewaffen?

@sfsworms @ww3real At this point, the Indian Army isn't short on materiel either, and the heavy weapons aren't always compatible anyway (e.g. PLA tanks have autoloaders, the Arjun does not).

@Alon @sfsworms @ww3real i don't think it makes sense for a 2030 tank design not to have an autoloader?

@pony @ww3real @sfsworms I don't think the Arjun program is even going in that direction today, unlike the EMBT. The Indian Army of 2034-6 is also one that's far shorter of heavy weapons than of grunts...

@Alon @ww3real @sfsworms it's not really going in any direction beyond basic service upgrades? it won't be adequate if pakistan gets good chinese export mbt's or if they indeed would see china as a strategic rival to arm against, nato now thinks of the "old" 120mm as no longer good enough for kinetic kills on modern armor, but also nobody expects to manually load anything bigger than that, so if india would have still only that in a possible mid 2030's conflict, they would probably not be having fun

@pony @ww3real @sfsworms Chinese tanks are specifically light, though.

@Alon @ww3real @sfsworms Type 99A is on par with nato mbt's, it's over 50t

@pony @ww3real @sfsworms 50 is a rookie number, the Abrams/Kitty/Merkava is like 67 and the Chally 2 is somehow 74.

@Alon @ww3real @sfsworms unmanned crew abrams would (will?) probably be well under 60 or even betterbut the point of autoloading anything over 120mm stands anyway, during ww2, frontline lifespan of a tank was maybe 2 years and i think it may very well be same in a (hopefully not) possible large future conflict too
