My gf and me are pretty much settled on the idea of adopting at some point instead of letting society pressure us to get kids of our ownPersonally I never had the urge since I first wanna do something for this planet and focus on that but my gf did feel the pressure until I opt the option of adoption and she hadn't even thought about that but instantly loved the idea! :blobhappy: I totally understand the choice of your own kids but I do think we should look into this more overall

And yes, I understand that adoption isn't easy but that's good I guess!Kids should go to a good home so requirements are logical! Besides we're not talking about a few years, no pressure ❤️ Just remember that there are options

@stux Take it from a guy that was never ready for kids and now has 3! Kids are a bliss and a curse in the same time. You have to sacrifice a lot for them, even if you don't see it this way.But they are also an immense joy and it warms my heart to see them grow, evolve, change, learn and discover.We've ultimately decided to plan them. At least first 2 (boys, 2 years apart). Then we've had an "oopsie" (a daughter, 5 years apart) and even that did not break our stride.

@ssamulczyk That sounds so lovely ❤️ I am kinda worried about the world around them though, I can only protect and teach them so much ofc but perhaps thats just a stupid thought

@stux It's not stupid in any way. That's a valid point and I'm thinking about it too. But my hope is we're going to teach them to be better than we are and they will fix our world.

@stux Adoption or also fostering? The latter is, as far as I’ve understood it, harder since there are more logistics involved. Either way, I think it’s a commendable idea.Not an easy road, but I respect you not putting more children on this planet if you don’t feel the desire to. (I’ve found the cultural peer pressure to have babies harmful, since people who don’t like their kids set them up for a lifetime of trauma).

@mahryekuh At least adoption, we'll see more later on but all options are open!First we want a ready household with funds available for all the kid(s) needs before we start on this 💪

@stux The choice should be between you and your partner. You shouldn’t have to explain it to anyone. Frankly, I think it’s great that you are thinking of moving in this direction. Imagine a child knowing for sure they were chosen.

@stux adoption brings challenges, over and beyond the normal challenges kids bring. Depending on where you adopt from, and the kids age, there can be health issues. My sister adopted 2 boys from the Phillipines. It has not been easy for her. My very best wishes for you both if you choose to adopt.
