Europe followed the US into Afghanistan. Then US voters elected Trump and he pulled the plug.Europe let the US lead the defence of Ukraine. And now US voters have voted for Trump, who wants Putin to win.Europe has centered it's security politics around a US led NATO, and American voters have now voted for Trump, who wants to pull out of NATO.It is time for a stronger, more capable, and fully independent Europe.For our generation, this is our Churchill moment — it is time to lead.

@randahl No worries, Trump will heal the nation and lead the US to victory. This will benefit europe enormously! Now we just need to get some more brexits and exits from the EU, and hopefully we can get the authoritarian and socialist EU to fall! Then we can have freedom! 🇺🇸 🍾

@randahl I don’t think that it’s even necessary for the US to pull out of NATO. Trump1 mentioned that the US may not react if Russia invades a NATO member. That’s enough to damage NATO’s central promise. Voting for Trump2 is the end of it.Unfortunately this means that Europe has to be able to defend itself without NATO. That means giving even more money/power to the military industrial complex and to open the door for future military conflicts with the US.

@randahl So we’ll spend our money on surveillance and weapons, which hopefully are adapted to the new kind of warfare we see in Ukraine, instead of spending it on renewables, climate, education and bridging the social divide. The lack of the latter two will create further fertile ground for future fascist regimes, who may like surveillance and weapons.It’s not that we can’t have nice things, but we don’t maintain them until they are destroyed because we like entertainment.
