I don't understand. Both sides said THIS was the most critical election is the history of mankind. In 2020, there were reportedly 81,284,000 votes for one candidate and 74,224,000 votes for the other, for a total of 155,500,000 votes. This time we have 67m and 72m for a total of 139,000,000 votes in the most important election in history. So over 15,000,000 votes fewer... 10% less people voted in 2020 than 2024? How the hell is that possible? More voter reform than they told us, maybe.

@BobB they tried voter suppression (re-run of 2022) and got sued out of it. They tried "stopping the count) (re-run of 2020) and got immediately threatened with lawsuits by GOP observers over it. They even tried "accidentally" leaking voting machine passwords, and some counts were successfully delayed due to staff "discovering" machines with cut-open security stickers.Maybe the observers were just breathing too much down poll staff's necks for staff to do anything, and ultimately the numbers were too bad for anyone to want to risk closing the gap. Successfully stealing an election demonstrably does not hurt your career or personal chances much, but unsuccessfully stealing one is probably still pretty scary.

@BobB and some of the open plotting about how to steal it might've hurt the the steal. After all, if the vote won't be decided on election night, and actually will take weeks, then the pressure is reduced on potential cheaters to actually cheat on election night.
