Someone said “good morning” to me at the bus stop and before thinking about it I said “no it’s not. It is objectively *not* a good morning.”I regretted this instantly all the bus stop regulars already think I’m a strange little nerd. Now they will think (know?) I’m a weirdly politically obsessed strange little nerd. But instead of the look 👀 of disapproval, hilariously everyone agreed. “Bad morning!” “BAD morning!”

@futurebird Give people permission not to perform normality. Performing normality in terribly not okay situations helps fascism (same in domestic abuse situations with authoritarian abusers as it is on the national level when fascists are in power). Us weirdos often end up being Cassandras BECAUSE we have a hard time performing normality.

@futurebird I'm trying to decide what to do here in western Miami Dade County. This county, which Biden won by seven points despite the media screaming it went pro Trump (it went less Democrat, which is different) went hard right last night. I'm afraid to *talk* to anyone, especially anyone with fairer complexion. I have my people and we're gonna need to mourn together and then rally in some way. Or just leave. I need to talk to my kids.

@futurebird my favorite answer to this is "WTF is good about it?" This reminded me about one English lesson about small talk, especially the part about not being honest. If someone ask me "How are you" he could get very honest and maybe worrying answer.
