@Rasterman Hard-er core Amish shun photo IDs which kinda cuts them off in many areas from even being able to vote. Historically that's been the implied agreement though: "stay out of our sh!t and we won't use our ultra-clannishness to cause you problems". When the Feds went after that Amish farmer in PA with gusto the implied agreement was broken.

@Rasterman poast shit itself, so luckily I'm here with plan B.The Amish are insular and really are too busy with real work or and so divorced from the goings on of the rest of the country that they have no reason to bother.That being stated, I ran into a lot of Horse and Buggies last night while I was out, so they absolutely took interest in this one.Also of note, seeing a ton of them packed into a strip mall chinese restaurant was another oddity.

@Rasterman it's impossible for them not to. They still have to share the roads and interact. They're just German heritage people with an antiquated sense of style. @Rasterman They get around that stuff by having a good reason for it.The phones are basically a work tool because when they're selling stuff to the normies, they need to be able to take credit card payments now since almost no one carries cash anymore. They don't have electricity in their house, but they'll go visit people who do.It sounds Jewish, but rather than trying to swindle God, they're trying to strike a balance between simple life and living in the reality around them.....and occasionally you just run into pragmatic communities that just don't give a shit.

@Rasterman oh yea this has been a huge thing in the areain delaware they're actually pushing legislation right now to deregulate raw milk and similar productspa and delaware especially have a lot of agriculture that is completely opposite of the bullshit in the cities, yet the rural producers always get the shaft, so this time the shaft came home to roostcrazy thing tho is being out of state i can go over the line into pa and buy raw milk, while residents can't, but pa has a lot of gay rules
