Spooky thought: maybe the fact we have a fear of the uncanny means there is an evolutionary reason to be afraid of something that looks like a human but isn't.

@ErikUden only in the past 30,000 years or so has Homo Sapiens been the only type of human around. Before that we had neanderthals, denesovians, flornensins, and probably others.
