Whenever I talk about Epstein I like to remind people that young people, mostly young women, but also people of all genders are abused in this way by less famous and politically significant men. Even if you live in a small town it could be happening in your community. Sometimes the police protect them, sometimes they are the police, sometimes they own the biggest business in town, orare "respected and loved" because they are a religious leader or head of a school.Don't keep their secrets!

Young boys also need to know that the big men in the community will attempt to normalize abusive behavior, to groom, if you will, by corrupting any horniness among the young for the use of guilt and maintaining silence. The churches play the other necessary role in this trashy dynamic. Between the groomer car dealers and the unctuous purity toads these power structures play bad cop and worse cop to destroy anyone who might defy either one.@futurebird

@futurebird I’m waiting to find out what the secret was in Kentucky that made the sheriff shoot the judge. It appears there may have been some sex crimes involved there.

@futurebird I recall at least three individual adults and several CSA visits who asked if I was being abused. Heads up: Kids are taught to lie to protect their abusers. In my case, I was threatened. I lied every time I was asked. Looking back, (staring fixedly, running out the door immediately afterward, etc.), I was not remotely convincing. Still, somehow the choice to seek help was left to an 8-year-old. Never put the weight of their rescue on the shoulders of a child.

@queenofnewyork Yeah one need not go hunting for some global drama that goes to Hollywood and Princes and Presidents to "do something" about the issue. The issue is the sexual abuse of young people, right? That *is* the thing we are upset about and want to change? Right???Sometimes with some of them that central problem feels like nothing but a cover for violent impulses and outrage.
