blow pops were basically a form of standard currency in middle school— not the most loved or most valuable but everyone knew how many blow pops were equivalent to a full-sized peanut butter cup or a … and this was the God Tier … a can of sugared soda. The houses that gave out soda probably forgot to plan but they were the most loved by us children.

@futurebird there was a convent near where I grew up and the nuns would make donuts to give out. Walking back out into a chilly night with a warm donut is one of my best memories.

@futurebird Blow pops as currency was huge in my school in the late 80s early 90s. So much so that the teachers realized that going to the local cash and carry and buying bulk boxes for us to sell to each other for a quarter was a better fundraiser than any bake sale ever could be.

@futurebird It depends. Am I the one receiving the potato or supplying it? I personally prefer potatoes to blow pops, my role in the transaction would be make a difference.
