I'm trying to run NextCloudPi in an LXC container, and it's my first time with LXC containers. And I don't know if I'm having a bad time or something, but for now the docs seems super confusing, and I cannot find answers to the simplest problems, like "how can I access the container from LAN?"And this LXC vs LXD thing is also super confusing.#lxc

@stfn It's a pain in the butt, but once it works it keeps working.

@stfn LXC can be just VM, but with kernel from the hypervisor (simplifying). Use it a lot. From hypervisor you can lxc-attach. From the LAN - you need to have IP on the container (guess it's default) and forwarding rules on the firewall on the hypervisor.

@stfn TBH I didn't use docs a lot. More playing and examples, but as light VM it's super simple.

@stfn @rozie Yea, Graebers videos are great. He keeps it going, though now he works on the Incus fork of LXD

@kln @rozie Need to check more of them, LXD looks like a technology that can be be useful in many cirucmstances

@stfn @rozie definitely. And with the Ubuntu Fan for networking it is surprisingly friendly out of the box (its one of the few features I miss in Incus). Though definitely worth getting stuck into the networking side if you plan to use it at scale. For example OVN.Ran two micro clusters (4 rpi4's per cluster - used for dev and some internal service applications) using LXD with clustering. Was largely a joy. :)

@stfn Looks like lxd (or lxc 2.0) has separate command for this. Don't know anything like this for my version (1:5.0.2-1+deb12u2).Anyway, it's just port forwarding and it works.
