For various reasons I keep thinking about the means of rebellion available to me and weighing their risks and rewards.* drain the banks and stock market* general strike* general boycott? (mutual aid the gaps)* media starvation... I am not good at this.

@futurebird One of the most fierce acts of resistance you can engage in is being content with what you have, and not always buying something. Some of the happiest people I know are like that. They don't have lots of new stuff, but what they have meets their needs and they're fine that way.People like that are massively irritating to a system which wants to get more sales, always.

@futurebird A few activist groups have started pooling their money and buying public businesses to have a say on the activities. The oil companies are the big targets, but they could work up to media companies. Consumer activism works a bit, but it's hard to get traction. There was a boycott of Canada's major grocery chain over price gouging, but that saw only a 6% drop in sales, and they only made vague promises to change. And that was with a fair bit of publicity. But I am a fan of credit unions, and we could certainly look to support other cooperatives out there.

@futurebird I am in favor of a general strike. The women of Iceland went on a strike in 1975 to get the government to give them equal rights. The men caved after a day. If everyone of us who voted for MVP Harris goes on strike to protest their steal, which i feel is coming, our economy would be crippled and I believe they'd have no choice. The pressure would be too great for them to endure and MAGA would not be able to keep things running alone.

@futurebird a general strike of any impact—well, all of these tbqh—requires a degree of organization that we simply don’t have. I think we should get there—but we are so far from there right now.

@futurebird mathematically perfect way to drain a bank:1. write equation for spacetime on sheet of paper2. write divide-by-zero on different part of same paper a carefully chosen distance away3. carefully fold paper so that it will slowly unfold, and while unfolding, divide by zero will pass by the spacetime equation, dividing spacetime by zero and creating a black hole4. pitch folded-up paper into bank5. run, fast as you can6. black hole drains bank(meant to be funny : )

@futurebird @falcennial My dad always said invite the other side in when they come door canvassing. Start a conversation, offer them tea, use up as much of their time as possible so they don't reach other people.
