60,000 cancelled subscriptions in the first 24 hours following the NO endorsement announcement from #Bezos #WaPo is absolutely staggering. this might be the first time in the history of USA media that this happens. but forget about the Washington Post a minute: Bezos trashed his credibility overnight. doesn't matter if he has the biggest valuation in the world, making him the richest asshole on paper. Bezos wants the respectability and influence of culture makers. that ain't happening… ever.

billionaires are a mafia, a cartel. they are giving each other billion dollars valuations without any transparency whatsoever. so calling them a cabal, a conspiracy isn't far from the truth. Bezos bought the Washington Post because Amazon's e-commerce monopoly makes him believe he controls the tastes, wants and whims of Americans by what they get to buy on his site. with WaPo he thinks he can control the politics… to the delight of the techbro billionaire mafia… 🧵

Bezos buying WaPo is why the techbros bent over for the Saudis so their Apartheid Joker could front Xitter.they really think you and me are that kind of stupid: that we would shrug and do nothing because it is their Manifest Destiny to control everything and dictate what we think, how we live. this is why all of this hinges in destroying Liberal Arts with AI: if they can manufacture culture out of thin air, they believe they'll control our Humanity… but…

it all hinged in selling themselves as the good guys, saviors, and chosen ones. after all, if there is no god, there are billion dollar valuations. why would you not do what a billionaire tells you to do, if they are by their definition of superiority, the only superior beings on Earth? but you know what's not how things work and you aren't fucking sheep. 60,000 people telling Bezos fuck you in less than 24 hrs is a glorious hallelujah.money is the techbros gxd. kill their idols. /🧵

@blogdiva It's when the rank and file of the paper walk out in solidarity is when Bezos gets his comeuppance. It might happen.I was one of those who canceled, because there is absolutely no way I'm supporting that. As for Prime, I've never been attracted to it, but I am guilty of buying from Amazon. Too bad it's so easy.

@fmhilton @blogdiva A phrase that has been in my mind since the start of Amazon's rise:"Seduced by the convenient side of the Force"

@cavyherdPeople too often become stupid sheep when "convenience" or "easier" is wrapped in shiny technology.

@tomjennings Well, & this capitalist hellscape we live in makes convenience a disproportionate value-added.
