I don't see this on Prusa's 'blog yet, but I got email notification this morning that Prusa is now manufacturing MK4S printers and Prusament at PrintedSolid in the US.I'm not sure I see the point. The US-made printer is $90 more expensive, and shipping from Prague is usually pretty fast for less than $90.#Prusa #3DPrinting @3dprinting

@kbob @3dprinting I wouldn't be shocked if there are institutions with a checkbox requirement for "made in the USA" and willingness to pay for that, as well as some individuals with that personal preference. I doubt individuals make it worthwhile from a business perspective which is why my money is on institutional purchasing.

@mcdanlj @kbob @3dprinting The last time I bought an Mk4, the shipping was $196. FedEx billed me for customs duties on behalf of U.S. Government too, I don't remember how much. IIRC it was somewhere between $50 and $200. Obviously the domestic shipping is not free, and we'll have a sales tax, but even with all that it may break even if it's only $90 more to the price.
