@Wyliesau it looks like the “Censor text” setting is on for your podverse. It uses a big open source list of words to obscure with * when enabled. Here is a screenshot of where it can be disabled. I’m pretty sure it is turned off by default on all fresh installs of Podverse. Maybe there was a version released a long time ago where it was on by default though. Hope that helps.

@Wyliesau I really like Podcast Addict. I don't like that they are pushing Mainstream crap now, but only when you add new podcasts. Of course they suggest NPR, etc. But I expect they almost all do that.I paid their one time fee to have it ad free, totally worth it.Podcast Addict also lets you easily add radio stations, and such.

@Wyliesau Podcast Addict is also the only app on my phone that will let me stream a video from a URL, and then lock the phone and put it in my pocket while it plays. Other apps, like MPV, won't play in the background.I guess the real downside is that it is not open source. I wanted to go that way, especially for an app that requires internet access.

@Wyliesau @podverse It’s a JS library called “badwords” and it includes variations of words so ya know cocks and cox and c0cks and c0x are probably all in the list.https://www.npmjs.com/package/bad-wordsAgain that feature is supposed to be off by default in all PV installs. If you installed podverse a long time ago maybe there was a version where it was on by default. The intention is that a lot of people use podverse to exclusively listen to religious content and

@Wyliesau @podverse well sir i'll be a bit defensive if people accuse Podverse of being censorious. Everything that is in Podcast Index is also in Podverse, UNLESS an IP holder contacted us and said we're violating IP with pirated content (this happened with someone's private NCLEX course). We'll never remove something because it is "distasteful" or "hateful" or "propaganda." Also I don't know why Adam is catching shrapnel from what appears to be a podverse bug lol he didn't request the feature.

@mitch @podverse Understood and don’t mixup NA with NA.S.We got nothing to do with the show anymore and are on JCD and Adams naughty list.After a lot of us listened and supported the show for 16 years most of us here are outcasts now and would give zero fuck what they say or think about us.A lot of the OG listeners, like me here, went overboard.But on the plus side, we have now 6h a week to listen to other podcasts 😎
