@j This is what my Grandpa wore all of his life. They're excellent workwear, but:1) They don't pair well with anything at all except a pair of work boots and a t-shirt. They are undeniably out of fashion.2) They tend to accentuate the worst parts of your body if you're fat, and they look loose if you're thin. They never fit right.3) They're very much associated with very old age.You should have a pair or two, but you shouldn't wear them out into town.

Depends on what you're doing, but I've seen them save toes. You're mostly wearing them to avoid breaking your toes if something heavy falls or steps on them. If you have large livestock it can be useful especially if you're working on them yourself or helping a vet at times. You can get cheap 'rubbers' for when you need them, and cheap leather for when you're not going to get mud and shit on them.The trade-off is you can't flex your toes so easy, so don't wear them doing roofing. lol

Mushrooms need to be kept cool after being picked and even then they're only good for about a week. The only way it'd really be feasible is if the buyer was willing to pay for overnight shipping. Packaging would be expensive and even then some mushrooms (like Golden oysters) would still likely arrive completely ruined.

For sawdust, hay, straw, etc. fill a bucket with water and hydrated lime. Add hydrated lime until you can stick your whole index finger in but can't see the tip of your finger. Let the stuff sit in there for 24 hours and it's ready. It's handy to use one of those fabric bags you see potatoes in so you can just pull it out. Just make sure your hydrated lime doesn't have more than 10% magnesium (most on the market has less than 1%). You also want high calcium in your hydrated lime but don't stress over the calcium too much. Too much magnesium will prevent mushrooms from growing tho.

A 10 pack of 6qt sterilite shoe boxes is like $10 and less maintenance (just load it up, spray it down, and ignore it until it's ready for harvest). Get a 5 gal plastic bucket with a lid if you don't have one and some coconut coir bricks. The process for growing all poo loving mushrooms is pretty much the same. Here's the guide I followed: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZkN1XUUEvapiQocq9Fs8XYsLmGrajZeXOnly difference is I made modified lids with a hole punch, microportape, and silicone. No need for a still air box or laminar flow hood at that point unless you're doing agar work.Get a pack of stir bars for your LC. People will tell you you need to remove the sunflower seeds and whatnot but I don't and haven't had any issues. I even leave the sticks in there lol
