@sterophonick what really gets me is people say fpgas arent emulation like emulation is a dirty word. some kind of primitive technology only used by people who Just Do Not Know Better

@sterophonick fpgas are straight up just hardware accelerated emulation. i dont think there are any really convincing arguments against that

@sterophonick even a perfect gate for gate recreation of some hardware is still emulation. just because it acts like a 6502 doesnt suddenly change the fact that it was made by xilinx (and chances are the die size and different silicon processes between the original chip and the fpga are going to cause subtle operational differences anyway)
