@astrid that's fucking wild.I see this behavior referenced a lot in media as well and I had a fear of this when I had to start using glasses when I was 12 years oldHonestly can't understand the reasoning. Glasses are awesome. Way less annoying to use than contact lenses, they look great, they don't fuck your eyes like surgery does and also they look greatOnly downside so far is that my latest pair has made people on restaurants and other establishments start calling me Sir ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

@feinzer yea realizing that there's a lot more discrimination against glasses wearers than I realized lolI started wearing glasses at 8, and even my mom was like "don't wear them too much they make your big beautiful eyes look tiny"It wasn't very much nearsightedness at the time, but it slowly got worse and worse until middle or high school, when I truly couldn't view the board even when I was at the front of the class. I was kinda afraid to put on glasses very much until then but now I just completely don't care lol

@astrid not sure if it's because of where I'm from but here people mostly don't care or just don't go around telling other people they look ugly with glasses or whatever (unless the glasses are exceptionally ugly lol).Hopefully this trend should be dying soon since a LOT more people has to use glasses these days lmaoI basically just started using my glasses full time to get used to them quickly and it's pretty comfy just being able to see properly. Once I got used to them I don't have any issue carrying them around as people tend to point out how annoying it is and stuffPS. Glasses make people look cute imo. You just gotta have confidence when wearing them, it makes all the difference :blobcatmeltthumbsup:

@astrid in the meantime, we get to wear all the glasses and expand or shrink our … corneas .. all we want because we started out nearsighted. Because we can tell someone’s vision status just by looking. /s
