There are two different parts to using neural nets (LLMs, object recognition, etc).The first is training the net. This takes a LOT of compute and energy.The second is inference, when you ask the trained net questions. This takes much less compute power and may even be shoehorned into a laptop.For AI on mobile phones, whatever part of inference can't fit into the phone will run in a remote data center with the phone just sending it queries.
