@Liquidmark really, because I enjoy the top right most (but the idea of having to draw that all the time makes me sweat). I got the idea of the top right from a girl who walked into my store. The other two was just browsing on the web for black hair cuts.Danbooru is a great site for references but horrible for authentic black characters. Pinterest is good, but way to much AI and other bad shit.

@Honeyshot top right is ok I guess because Nikki already had puffs that makes puffs or other Afro hairstyles feel more right for her to me. Tho it seems like everyone under the sun has puffs. I have a character that I made myself that has a puffy Afro. Braids or freaks def would be a pain to draw repeatedly but it’s your best option I think if you want a natural (as in no chemicals or dyes) hairstyle that you can rather style or flow.

@jorl thanks, that's the problem with the twin tails is all my characters have twin tails. Kind of like that. Hannah Barbera effect, the same reason why all characters have collars because they could easily switch up the heads, pigtails are easy cuz you kind of Mickey mouse them all over the face so no matter what way they are facing they are easy to draw

@Honeyshot They all look great but if I were voting I'd have to go with either the top left or top right. Of course it's fiction so you could always just swap to whatever you feel like drawing most at the time :akkoshrug:

@Honeyshot top left and bottom right are my picks, but I'm totally a sucker for big, curly hair. The short cut or the tight locks just aren't my faves.
