specifically regarding the rule we have requiring it for anything NSFW, the step to mark media uploads as sensitive content has changed. To do so, you must simply click on the ⚠️ icon after uploading explicit content. You can optionally leave the input box for “Content warning” blank but please remember that it is still required to add the tags for #gore #guro #3D & #AI in the main text body itself at the very end. However, I encourage everyone to add tags for ease of search and filtering.

@satori Looks very good! Didn't expect #Mastodon to improve even further than it has, and despite the issues I've personally had with its team years ago, I can say so far I'm very happy with how it's developing as a software. Still hate how complex it is to run and the hacks or dependencies it relies on in places, wish someday that could be improved too.

@DarksonNico it appears all your posts are already marked sensitive by default so you do not need to go back and edit anything. Having it set to automatically mark all uploads as sensitive in your account preferences means you do not have to take the step to manually do it every time you post NSFW.

If you upload NSFW more often than not, you can just go into your account preferences to make it so that media is always marked sensitive by default without having to click the ⚠️ each and every single time when posting.https://baraag.net/settings/preferences/other

@satori is this setting for uploads or what we see on the site, because it would be quite handy to not have to mark everything we post as sensitive manually every time given that this is a porn site and everything posted should be not safe for work by default.

@satori -is there a way to see my images in the notifications again?,they only show up as "attachment" rather than showing the imagealso the windows/tabs are all re-sized now so they don't match the window anymore, is there anyway i can change that so they re-size to match the size of my browser/window?

@satori I have the "always mark as sensitive" setting enabled, but it's not enabling the "content warning" button by default.Also, if I enable content warning without typing anything in, post it, then edit the post, the content warning checkbox is no longer checked. Seems to not save if it's clicked but no text is entered.My posts are still being marked correctly (the media content warning is still shown), but it seems disconnected from the "content warning" checkbox.

@nao @satori I think I'm in the same situation. Even when I turn on "Always mark media as sensitive", there is no change in the display. I'm afraid that I will accidentally post NSFW media without marking it, so I clicked the CW button manually.

I am aware of a bug with v4.3 affecting users that enable “always mark media as sensitive”.After having it set to automatically mark media as sensitive, the ⚠️ CW button does not highlight to give you a visual cue to show it is already marked by default. This also means there’s no way to toggle it off to post something SFW without the sensitive marker unless you turn it off & go back to manual. @EscBoy I hear your frustrations and totally understand. Being forced to change the manner in which you choose to publish your works is a valid grievance. Marking NSFW media as sensitive content is something baraag has to do if this community is to survive the grip of new regulations. There is a bug with the new update that makes it so that you cannot unmark NSFW when it is enabled as default in settings. I know it is not ideal to manually mark all your uploads but I hope this is fixed soon.

@EscBoy yes, an interstitial page would be an absolute godsend in liability coverage to all adult-oriented mastodon servers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstitial_webpageIf the mastodon devs were to add this feature, I would go back to being more lenient with marking NSFW media as sensitive content on baraag. I’ve yet to formally write a feature request for it on github.

@satori that'd be trivially easy to add. I doubt they'd go for it though. They've never really been willing to add features for adult sites. Ruffy/Aethy's solution is to just hard code it to have a meta filter that works with parental filters. So if you have the parental controls enabled on a particular device, it just blocks the site.

@Taullo if it came down to it due to tightening legal restrictions and our current sensitive content markers are no longer enough to be compliant with upcoming new laws, I would put up a bounty to have mastodon forked with an interstitial page that appears for all viewers that are not logged in.

@satori I sent you a message a few days ago, so far you never responded. I've been holding out and hoping for a feature that let's us hide the number of likes, faves, or boost our images or artwork may have. I prefer having something like this, as it reduces the disappointment if I post something and enough people don't like it. I prefer to just keep it privately hidden so I don't see it at all if I choose not to.

@satori I changed this setting as soon as I made my account yet I still got a strike apparently, does this “always mark as sensitive” feature just randomly fail sometimes? And it doesn’t even give a visual key on posts, I’m just supposed to trust it’s working. I’m using mobile —safari and/or ice cubes app
