I liked chumbawamba from the start, though most people know of them from the Tubthumper record that made it commercially big (1997!). I'm glad a bunch of lifer peacepunks made enough money to buy a house. But this lovely song came up tonight, celebrating Margaret Thatcher's death. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fMlooANcdlM

@d6 I could occasionally be considered a crasshole. I never saw them perform, but we did have Eve Libertine perform at a HOMOCORE show.

@leopardboy yeah! And back when punk was not so automatically gay friendly.

@tomjennings Yeah, exactly!I have to confess that I didn't know about them until Tubthumping came out. I wasn't a fan, really, but it was on the radio a lot back then.Anyway, I had a friend in college at the time who was really into punk music, wore a leather jacket, etc. who educated me about Chumbawumba, explaining their anarchist views, and I became a fan. I loved the idea that all the straights were dancing to Tubthumping without knowing anything about the band.
