Proposed rules for FEMA:If your state passes laws to ban climate change considerations...If your Senator votes against FEMA funding...If your Senator voted against aid for other states like New York following Superstorm Sandy......You don't get Federal aid for storms.I want to pay taxes to help people. I just am not sure that we should be helping those who won't help themselves or others.EDIT: Since it apparently isn't obvious, this is tongue in cheek and meant as a thought exercise.

@augieray you start doing that and you tear apart the country for realInstead: make sure the people get aid and know that their reps voted against it—and work to restore democratic infrastructure, ie kill voter suppression. There are plenty of people in every state who vote blue; there are plenty who don’t vote at all; the best way to turn every red state blue is to have all the non-voters realize their reps fucked them over.

@susankayequinn @augieray the problem is that the same representatives that voted against the aid later show up when the aid is distributed, and say: look, we are helping. Or Texas Republicans advertising: "the state is broken, we are the only ones who can fix it!" After being in charge for 20+ years... Voters fall for slogans, not for facts...

@carstenfranke @augieray Y’all need to remember that most red states are blue states held hostage with lots of non-voters. It’s absolutely possible to flip them and voter suppression is one reason they’re still red.
