@judgedread It would depend on what one called a Christian revival.Something like the Catacomb Synod (which explicitly in its founding documents says White Nationalism is A-OK) would be a proper form of Christian revival, and it would spell doom for the status quo.But just a larger version of what we already mostly have? Yuck. The last thing we need is more "Christian" Zionism and more female "pastors." These are abominations.The good news is about 700 of these cucked up so-called churches are closing annually. More good news is that things like the aforementioned synod are expanding.Religions take time to adapt to have relevance and usefulness under different circumstances. Similar to militaries, they are often preparing to fight the last war, while a totally different war is kicking their ass.At this point, a religion that repeats your high school teacher and your HR diversity seminar is not relevant or useful, so churches are closing.

@judgedread At the risk of drawing the ban hammer, I am a Christian and I'm no longer sure what "box" I would be put in. I am mostly of the Southern Baptist persuasion (the Baptist Faith and Message, not the Convention). I would just like to say I can confidently state that I have learned more about the state of Christianity from reading your posts on the subject than I ever learned sitting in a church, and sadly, I am forced to agree that you're right about this. I ultimately stopped attending churches altogether when I couldn't find any that wouldn't avoid the uncomfortable parts (and there are a lot of them) with a 10 foot pole, while still loudly proclaiming to believe it to be 100% the inspired Word of God, just not so much the parts that offend anybody. Christianity in the west at least has been hyper-feminized, and Jesus turned into some effeminate hippy, and It was all just a very depressing realization.

@JohnYoungE The disturbing lesson of post-1945 US church history is that government and media can bend most churches to their will, and it isn't even that difficult. There was no jew inquisition with the rack and the wheel and the boiling tongs. Just the threat of loss of tax exempt status and mean words from Walter Cronkite were enough to bully most of them into line.On Gab in 2016 I advised anyone who wanted a based church in their area to start one, because they were very thin on the ground.They still are.

Economy gone, a few decades of misery while the leeches all flee and foreign interests loot the place, but eventually serious people end up in charge and we reestablish ourselves as a nation-state. Christianity there never returned to its pre-USSR levels, but the people identifying as Christian are all true believers. I think it's an improvement.
