       @stux My partner is also the person half the village seems to call when there are computer problems (slight exaggeration, but you get the drift).Never tell people you're a programmer if you can help it. 🥲

       @stux There was a time a had a special box with MS-Dos and Wordperfect and some DOS-Startmenu on floppies as a toolkit for all friends and family and their neighbours who I went by to help them and to explain them how to start it up and change their autoexec.bat. Nowadays I tell them I only have knowledge of some highly specialized items in IT and don't know the rest, or I just say no...

       @stux  Used to get that a lot from neighbours. They expect you to drop everything and fix their problem and offer a couple of cans of crap lager for several hours work. The more you do for them the more they expect. At some point you have to say no or show them a pay rate and demand a deposit up front before starting work.

       @stux I've been there brother. The more you do, the more they expect from you. I've learned to say no, cite a pay rate, upfront deposit. They stopped asking because it's not free. 😅
