There are few people with more power to hurt twitter by leaving more than political commentators, especially the liberal ones who are popular. If you leave there is no one for the right to kick around and try to impress anymore. You are the show and the audience... you are the content. You are the product. @futurebird Twitter can be thought of as a series of communities. Some communities are completely dead there (eg science, cybersecurity). But others remain though they too are having different nodes starting to shrivel. At some point enough nodes will die to rip that community into decline. Anyways point is to think of it as not one huge entity but lots of entities

@mattg They were very young guys who worked for Obama on the media and campaign side of things and know a lot about elections but much less about politics. They are liberals, even left leaning ones a little, but they work for neoliberals. They are also good at elections and if you want to win? Well. So I don't totally write them off even though they have huge blindspots at times.

Oh and they launched into this discussion of they mysteriously deathless X (twitter whatever) right after being kind of sour about how "young people think both parties are the same" and how this can depress the vote. Something they are correct about. They are not the same. You know what *else* isn't "the same, boys?"

@futurebird Okay, so the podcasters are chained up in the cave, except for instead of just staring at the light on the wall, they're both forced to mine for content, which both generates the advertising ore from which Elon extracts as well as shadows on the wall, but because of the way the mines are constructed each miner can only see other miners' shadows.So in other words, they are chained up doing nothing but throwing shade at each other.
