if wordpress disappeared from the internet tomorrow, would anything of value be lost? I thought it's pretty much AI slop, affiliate marketing, and recipe spam

@khm yes it would be. It’s the main reason why so many websites still offer excellent, native RSS support (often without even realizing it).

@khm apparently it powers 40% of the whole internet, which is a lot of websites. There’s all kind of stuff being hosted on WP. My bad though, I thought you were asking that question in good faith.

@khm I'd say the ones of value (like traditional blogs) would move to something else, specially as it's very unlikely to be gone overnight so it's not comparable to like a hoster going down but more like a software being deprecated.
