After misskey.io has lifted the ban on your baraag, please be aware that going forward you must *always* initially upload a censored version first. Then edit it with the uncensored version. This is a workaround to comply because misskey software is unable to comprehend mastodon edits. So users on their end will only ever see the original censored version that was first posted.

@satori Always been funny to me how the misskey io admins are more interested in forcing their ideology on others rather than making a functional website.And it's clear that they're just forcing their ideology, as nobody has been punished for having connections to uncensored porn - Japanese ISPs still allow visits to Baraag and several other Japanese fediverse instances still federate with uncensored porn with no issues, so the legal argument doesn't hold up here.

@satori I never liked the idea of baraag being beholden to other sites terms of service and rules maybe the rest of the freidverse should cut off Misskey if they don't want to play by our rules, being banned from a site I don't use isn't a loss to me. I have a baraag account for Baraag these other sites are largely irrelevant to me as an average user.

@satori Our neighbors across the fediverse are very important to me and i will gladly tag and mark posts in consideration of them, and i hope mastodon gets more features like this, but i hesitate to use a misskey exploit in consideration of such a shitty recalcitrant remote instanceBecause eventually misskey may fix it, and then we will be banned by misskey.io no matter what we do. And, as usual, they may offer no solution or recourse but to self-censor at our own detriment... đź’˘that is not ok

@uwaa before the edit feature is added on their end, ideally the misskey devs would add the feature that most other fediverse software is already capable of doing, which is to simply reject media from other servers instead of resorting to a full on ban. There would be no need to ban users for non-compliant censorship and break federation between our communities when the easy solution is to just reject all incoming media from loading on misskey’s end.

@satori i remeber reading somewhere that the japanese consittusion had somthing in it that could loop hole around the whole censorship thing in court. its really stupid. i personally i love japanese culture however one thing i dont like is their stubbornness to comply with the rest of the world in certain areas. its getting old...

@satori Absolute L for Misskey here.Guess I'll be banned by them. Their requirements for unlifting the ban is a bit of a ludicrous task to do, even more so for users who don't have a censored variant to their disposal or simply have way too many artworks here.Like Satori mentioned here on the comments, Misskey devs should have rejected all media from loading on Misskey's end since the very beginning and none of this would be an issue if they're so worried about uncensored coochie.

@satori this is unfair, countless Japanese accounts use xTwitter and that site has no requirements on posting nsfw content, so Japan is able to see uncensored genitalia without getting into legal trouble. But now that they have their own instance, they would like to dictate how other instances interact with their artists? If it isn’t posted on their instance, it should not matter, following the same cultural rules they apparently use on Twitter.The demand far too steep of a kowtow. In a world of massive censorship, artists should be encouraging uncensored expression, not this, especially when it isn’t even posted on their own site & they wouldn’t demand anything like this from Twitter. :blobcatangry:

@logicalfallacies every artist has a Twitter and they follow - and are practically forced to see - uncensored genitalia. Here they want one of the only uncensored artist instances to start censoring. I do not like that, to say the least.
