@futurebird I have a playing list for such situations. The music is quiet different but it's always connected to good memories, and memories of good vibes.

@futurebird I tend to go for happy music, but also to motivate me to fix the root of the unhappiness.

@futurebird I pick high-energy music (normally dance music) to blast away the sadness! 💥

@futurebird You know that chill you get up your spine during an incredible musical moment? That's what I aim for - and I get that from music of many different genres and moods. It's a dopamine kick - and a reminder that there are still amazing things in the world, even if they may be hard to see in that moment.

@futurebird I used to listen to music a lot; now I hardly ever do (except sometimes in the car). When I'm feeling down I bury myself in one of my comfort books if I'm free to do that.

@futurebird I pick hopefull music ( so not really happy but not really sad more 'pick your energy, tomorrow will be better' /' let's unite' / 'sometime we fall, but we get back up' ) etc .

@futurebird Happy music makes it worse. If I'm really, really down, there's nothing better (or bleaker) than Tom Waits' Blood Money.

@futurebird Pick energetic, angry, aggressive music to cheer up.There's something about heavy metal that makes me happy even though it's not "happy" music per se.

@futurebird there is no good choice for me: sad music would make me feel even worse. Happy music would get me annoyed because I feel like it is trying to force me to be happy and that annoys me.

@futurebird Neither glad nor sad. For a reason I don't fully understand, renaissance polyphonists get me through a lot. The more complicated, the better.Messa l'homme armé for 8 voices. Duo seraphim from the Libre Vermeil ...Maybe it's escapism?https://open.spotify.com/track/6i6QACzqdeOCZgqnWoXFWz?si=6t2dyyv0RuSqfqvf4CnaCw

@futurebird Definitely go for music which matches the mood.Letting it burn out faster is the easiest way out of negative emotions for me.

@futurebird Sometimes I worry with all its tracking that Google knows my moods when I do listen to music. But then again, some of the best stuff among the music I do listen to gets kind of deep or dark anyway. (A lot of it is covers of Vocaloid music and Vocaloid producers aren't bound by normal musical rules.) So it kind of is more of I pick particular styles depending on my mood and that seems to be a *LOT* harder for their algorithms to track.
