       If he thought about it,  on the guitar, the notes past the 2 dots start over. They're the same as the first fret. The the notes before the 2 dots are what would be before the 1st fret. So that's like playing in another dimension where he's playing before the first fret. Then he can play past the 2 dots into our dimension. Back and forth between both dimensions.
