A good youTube pundit needs to be able to issue corrections, enjoyable to listen to (being funny or insightful helps) fairly informed about history and the subject, but also... and this is often the hard one: release videos on a consistent schedule. People used to listen to radio or TV when getting dressed. I listen to a trail mix of youTube channels to decide what stories I might look at in the papers. But, I'd like to mix it up more. Who do you listen to?

@futurebird I find the scripted episodes of Some More News useful - their free wheelin podcasts less so.I always seem to end up at satire shows for reliable news.

TabithaSpeaksPolitics: She's great and deserves to get big, though she could use some staff so her videos were more regular. @futurebird My wife and I very much enjoy Beau of the Fifth Column and part of our daily lunch time is to catch up on their coverage of politics. Very knowledgeable, clear, good snark that adds but not drowns out the conversation, and even when not aligned with what we believe, we acknowledge the argument and evidence good to consider.2-3 videos daily, each about 3-4 minutes in length with a longer podcast on YouTube for anyone that wants to go deeper or know more about Beau and Belle.https://www.youtube.com/@BeauoftheFifthColumn

@holsta I'll watch Some More News on the weekend, but their shows are so long and you need to pay attention ... so I don't put them in my "getting dressed and taking a shower" play list.

@futurebird Already subscribed to Tabitha Speaks (followed her from TT to YT) and Medias Touch (Same, TT to YT pipeline). Used to watch TYT, but they turned me off with their presentation and demeanor. I will check out the others. Thank you.

Ring of Fire: I don't totally trust them since they have some kind of connection to RT. I think they may be a part of an influence campaign to get liberal Americans stirred up the wrong way.Beau of the Fifth Column: I like how his wife took over. They claim that a fair number of conservatives watch ... but I wonder about that. The Serf Times: videos tend to lack focus? can be funny. mostly junkfood. Thom Hartmann: He's fine. @dgodon With a podcast I feel like I'm trapped with one group of people for too long. I'd rather listen to 5 different people for 20min each than a 100min show with one person. Even with those I like I almost never want to listen to the whole show... just clips.

@futurebird For comedy punditry I would offer Habitual Line Crosser's Shorts. The number of times he has made a joke of something and then we have had to do research to see what global political thing he was making fun of is is high enough that I still count as learning things from him, even though he doesn't really cover it in details and really is just making irreverent fun with an obvious USA bias, but even calls that bias out as part of the jokes too.

@futurebird* Secular Talk - sort of similar to Pakman in that I *hate* the titles, but he does good work* Late Show with Stephen Colbert - mainstream propaganda ;)* The Daily Show - slightly more progressive (Stewart is still the best of the bunch when it comes to cutting criticism, but they're all good)* TLDR News has a WTF: USA show on Nebula (What to Follow ;)) which is great for a recap

@futurebird For news, Breakthrough News and Means Morning News (though I watch the latter mainly on MeansTV). Other YouTube political pundits I follow are Lucretia McEvil, Anansi's Library, Overthrow Media, Second Thought, and Luna Oi and NonCompete. There are many others, but I feel like this would be what I'd follow if I ever decided to cut down on YouTube.Most important being consistency, I can only really point to the news channels. I just got excited to share YouTubers and kinda forgot the assignment after double checking I had the definition of the word pundit correct.
