oh that makes sense. I just know when I was setting up the VPS it couldn't connect to ipv4 internet and when I would ping the router i would lose all the packets. I didn't get much farther from that because I got annoyed lol

@Tony If you need your VPS to be able to dial something on your home network you should look into setting up a vpn tunnel.This is a time honored method of circumventing CGNAT, it's what I've done for years.

@Tony Oh I see.So yeah, you'll want to connect the VM to the vps over wireguard, then on the vps you configure nginx or raw portforwarding to expose the service actually running on your vm, then the application running on your vm will be accessible over the internet
