My least favorite thing about the modern commercial internet is when I'm very clear about what I want, and I can't find it, because the search engines are helpfully "correcting" my search to make it make sense.No, I don't want a device that scales analog video to HDMI, I want a device that takes HDMI and scales it to analog video! that's the exact opposite of what I want!

@foone I'm not sure if this is helpful or wanted, but can you do HDMI->VGA adapter, into a GBS-8100?I haven't had terribly good luck with this (video washed out) but it's supposed to be the meta for driving arcade monitors from a PC, so I'm suspecting one of the pros might give you what you want. But I do note that like you, even though I knew what I was looking for, a search for "GBS VGA to CGA" gave me the opposite too!

@foone I was doing a search last night "who sampled the end of Nights in White Satin" and Google came back to me with "Showing results for 'whosampled the end of ...'"And I about lost my shit, because it was taking something I wrote properly, and making it a typo.I realized a minute or two later that 'whosampled.com' or whatever is a site that aims to corner the market of tracking who sampled what -- it was missing the song I was looking for, too.Was absolutely wild, my brain did flips.

@foone I presume you found it, right?I see two options now. I own the HDMI2AV box myself. It seems there is now a cable style version too.I googled hdmi to rca and it came right up.

the two CRTs I'm dealing with have the same(ish?) connector. It's 10-pin, with a gap. One faces up, one faces don't. no idea why that is. I don't yet have a pinout I can trust. Still looking

@foone Yah. I had this problem searching for a specific USB adapter because everyone thought I wanted to do audio *out* which is in fact I wanted audio *in*! Search pages need a way of saying "This result should not appear in the search I made".

I figured out a workaround using a spare computer, but it's not working because my linux machine switches into real text mode, which breaks my VGA-to-HDMI adapter because it's 70hz

@foone that RGBS output header is from the same series that was used in my early 1980s Apple II clone for the power header. It’s the JST V connector! The one on the scaler is a RTB-1.5-5P.
