They are looking to move more out onto the streets that are meant to serve longer sentences next. They are so bad at solving crime here that you can forget justice. The high streets look shit now, sometimes run down buildings. More foreign stores taking over... like the fast food places, vape stores or Turkish Barbers if I got that right. Lost a lot of the independent small stores, even the butchers or grocers have trouble because we had corner shops and then supermarkets. But that's probably the world over at this point.

I came from the US to Mexico. It was a food downgrade, honestly. Traditional food from my country isn't actually spicy, but growing up here all my life with Chicanos conditioned me to eat spicy regularly lol

@sim @gentoobro @lain @rin @hakui These things are always a good gauge of changing trends too. Was reading in my classic Reader Digest Culinary Year that oysters were so plentiful about 150-200 years ago, that they were a peasant food and regularly thrown into a Lancashire Hot Pot.

I think spice exists on a scale that is usually fixed in childhood. My wife (asian) doesn't even blink at dumping habanero salsa on things. I eat the normal "picante" salsa here in central Mexico with no problem, ones that locals tend to avoid as super spicy. My wife couldn't handle Thai level spice when we visited Thailand and had to order the medium level of spice. It's all relative.

CancunAh. Boomerville. I have not had the misfortune to visit, but have heard stories. A bunch of old NIMBYs from the US move down to Playa del Carmen and expect it to be like the US despite ostensibly having gone through customs and immigration at the airport where it might have been mentioned once or twice that they were entering Mexico.
