I have long failed to organize my computer collection but a big reason for that is that I only collect things that would defy organization.If it's normal enough to fit into nicely defined categories, it's too boring for me to collect.

@fooneMy current plan is to sticker a UUID barcode to everything, then let the Database figure out where i put it. A portable scanner of some kind makes this way easier.Thats why I got myself a unitech PT-600 barcode reader with 8088-compatible cpu and according to the manual DOS-compatible rom. Was just as cheap as a dumb wired one (10€ + free shipping) so why not. I just have to finish 3d-modeling a battery bay replacement bc the current version looks like that meme of the half drawn horse.

@clairely_undaunted that's a reasonable method! But I still end up with a big "misc" thanks to all the stuff that's not related to keyboards at all
