getting a fly with a fly swatter is nice, but getting one and feeding it to your ants is the perfect circle of life. The murder of an annoying creature and joy for the colony. Guilt free fly hunting. This must be how Pica feels about... everything.

@gemini6ice I have several house spiders and for some reason I asked them to pay rent... I don't know what I was expecting... but the lint balls and gnats are very thoughtful if not exactly wanted.

@futurebird I've been swatting flies with my electric swatter, which only stuns them, and then dropping them into the web of a funnel spider in my back yard. When they wake up and start moving, the spider runs out and gets them. It feels nice to help the spider out

My cat Pica always eats the flies she catches, although I don't think she enjoys them much... just eats them out of a sense of duty, or some other strange cat reason. She likes to stun them and play with them then bring them to me so she can stare at me as she eats them.She's SO STRANGE. Only gets away with being this way because she's so cute...

@futurebird @sunguramy When I was gigging in China for about six months, I began every meal by apologizing to the table for the fact that I was about to use my chopsticks like a three-year-old.I *did* get better.But I definitely never got good enough to eat like a grown-up, let alone catch a fly.

@futurebird We had a cat whose title was "Fly Catcher." She stalked any that managed to get into the house and would always look so satisfied after chewing up and swallowing her latest victim. Miss that old girl...
