       Unpopular Hot Take: You can get away with so much more if you are dressed neat as pin and about two decades out of date.The part no one tells you is this can also be a lot of fun. (it works for bad reasons maybe taking advantage of it is failing to dismantle norms or whatever— true)

       @futurebird Given that I always buy as close to the same clothes as I can when my old ones wear out. I suspect I would be about 50 or 60 years “out of date” if they still made clothing like they used to. Nothing lasts anymore, and it’s all made out of plastic. At least I can still get all cotton jeans and t-shirts, though the cotton t-shirts are getting harder to find and are thinner and thinner fabric.

       @futurebirdI once stood inside a police kettle where everyone else had a cop on top of them but I was able to just walk out. I was wearing a really nice 1970s brown herringbone 3-piece suit, a toothbrush mustache, and a bright red tie
