So I recently saw a trailer for 'Sister Boniface Mysteries', which I hadn't seen, and I decided that now is a good time for a cozy mystery. So I've been watching it from the beginning! π@Jennifer have you seen this one? It's labeled as a comedy-drama, and it certainly has its silly/quirky moments! π1/

@Jennifer There was a ... hallucination, involving sea life, LOL. And they gave the lead policeman a makeover as a pirate! π
They could have gone with a generic pirate look, but instead they went full Jack Sparrow! π I laughed so hard!!! ππ€£ (This is set in the 1960s, BTW. π)2/2

@5ciFiGirl I've seen that on either Britbox or Acorn but haven't tried it! I didn't know it's a comedy, I'm suspicious of serious shows with nuns π I'll try it now! Thanks for the recommendation!

@Jennifer It's a spinoff of Father Brown, which I haven't watched, but that's ok, lol! πIt's definitely quirky and lighthearted! I was looking for something else not too serious, like death in paradise. π This has the basic serious mystery format, but Sister Boniface herself is very off-beat! πShe is extremely unconventional, by both the standards of the police, and the other nuns! But nothing stops her from doing her own thing! π€£ 1/

@Jennifer I share your wariness of nuns, but they don't really dwell on religion at all.As I said though, it's set in the 60s, and they explore several social issues of the day. (Though occasionally it seems like commentary on present events, as well.)But it's all done in a very open, non-judgemental way! π2/2
