Would not surprise me one bit if this is true. I've applied for jobs and gotten rejection emails within a few minutes, no human could have read and comprehended my resume in that short a time. I admit it could be that those jobs were closed but not yet removed, but I have no way to know. I assume some non-trivial amount of resumes undergo some kind of first-level keyword scanning, and I've tried to incorporate as many as I can from job descriptions in my resume to attempt to pass that first level.

Interesting and possibly related, they've been at the forefront of AI and were very hushed about it. They have some interesting tech that pulls dozens of reports and gives quantitative ratings on things and throws out/highlights outliers where needed. It's pretty clever, and maybe it's why they don't care about things failing. Overly trusting of AI or something.

So I get back here and wasn't blocked and asked him politely, then asked him impolitely and said I'd put the bot to him, then after about a month, I turned the Strangelove bot back on, he acts like it's a massive unprovoked attack--a bot that does nothing unless I receive unwanted replies, so even if it were unprovoked, the bot only responds to provocations. I started replacing media: every request from their server to FSE for images was replaced with the gif advertising CP at NCD. So he (allegedly; my phone was off) tried to call me, posted about how he was going to "escalate", so I posted his face and city, and he blocked the entire server before I could post the "entire staff is vaccinated" Yelp screenshot. I saw the same thing happening in Cybersecurity. A massive push to hire, almost exclusively, negroes and women while a lot of people like me who were melanin deficient had a difficult time picking up work no matter how proficient our technical aptitude and CVs were. It made me all realize the industry is kind of a spook anyway - it's very difficult to actually secure infrastructure when the people within it are incompetent and constantly falling to old scam tactics. I do think we should start some kind of gaming and content industry that's parallel to the current slop. DEI is massively unpopular and thus demand for something else is born. I think we can trash all of the reddit ideology and produce some legitimately original and creative games that really push the boundaries and break taboos. That's why I am all in for Race War 2030 simulator.

@lethn @pyrate @sickburnbro Is not only boomers, at least you tell boomers not to do anything and they tend to pay attention. IMHO Millennials are worse as they think they know better than you.But I'd say is everyone, there is a tendency lately of people not being able to use any tool with an interface more complex than of a basic website.

It's certainly not only boomers but I disagree that boomers tend not to do anything, there are times when they will outright make up total nonsense in their heads about tech generally and spread it among themselves and it's not a troll they're just being retards. Bearing in mind as well, Millennials aren't really that much of a powerful generation, Boomers are in the halls of power and have been for some time.Easily the most frustrating thing having to deal with a boomer is when they make something up that's total nonsense and they will try to argue with you about it.

@lethn @pyrate @sickburnbro In my experience boomer employees not in management tend to be cautious mostly because they are scared of breaking something, when I tell them not to do anything they tend to comply.If they are in management, then they feel entitled to do whatever they want but this tends to be people of all ages, the more high-up in the company the more they think things like 2FA or mandatory long passwords or any other security policy don't apply to them "because".

@sickburnbro I'd believe it. There's other instances where companies were looking for candidates with 5+ years of experience in a programming language that has existed for like 1 year.

@sickburnbro This is why when I am submitting resume's I always do my best to use as many words from the job posting as possible. I figure if they're automating the process they will be looking for words in the resume that match up with the posting. The strategy has served me well so far.Though it won't help with stupidity like we see in the OP.
