@stux oh, lol... no. most americans cannot identify Alaska on a map, nor do they understand the scale of the united landmass in relation to the globe. furthermore, most americans couldn't identify major mountain ranges because... wait for it... ~20~25% of the population is functionally illiterate while 54% of american adults have a literacy rate below the sixth grade. 35% of those are foreign born ESL speakers, still a minority.

@stux I have a neighbor who goes to those resorts, and never leaves the property. But they will tell me that "I've been to Mexico several times, so I know what it's like over there".
